She was unleashed,
Never again to be tamed.
The fire was ravenous within her,
Starved from years of stifling.
But now it burned,
Brighter, bolder, and more daring than she had ever known,
Spreading within her until she could no longer contain it.
So she turned her magic onto the world,
And watched as her fire touched the lives of others,
Reinvigorating them until they began to glow too.

There is an energy that erupts when you believe in your ability to achieve your dreams. It’s passion but on fire. It spreads like wildfire, unable to be contained within you. It’s an unleashing of epic proportions, an unveiling of the magnitude of power that is released when you simply believe in yourself. And the best part? Often it ignites the flame in others as well.

Have you ever felt what it’s like to fly above the storm?

To see the storm but not make it your norm?

To soar above the clouds, high like an eagle,

Holding your composure and feeling regal?

What if I told you that it was possible?

To view the world, your joys and sorrow,

Without bringing that energy into your tomorrow?

So that every day, you begin and end

With steady wings that won’t bend.

To see the life that’s unfolding before you,

With a piercing, unfaltering state of vision,

Where anything that’s happened is already forgiven.

You are free to fly unburdened and clear,

And see what it’s like to live with clarity not fear.

An eagle does not run away from a storm. An eagle flies directly into the storm and uses the turbulence from the storm to rise above it. So is the nature of clarity. To see our experiences as arising and passing, like a storm, and to view them with the sharpness and understanding that they do not need to stay with us tomorrow. There is a stillness that arises then, a sharpness, a focus like an eagle before it descends on its prey, where nothing else matters, nothing else can enter your field, because even during the storm, you are the calm.

It is everything and nothing at the same time.

A fleeting moment

But also one where time stands still.

My eyes are finally open,

And I see with clarity,

The magnificence of the world around me.

I realise that I am simply a voyager

Journeying through this moment

A moment that will not last

But one that I will deeply feel.

So, it is everything and nothing at the same time.

And in wholeheartedly embracing this beautiful impermanence,

My mind awakens to the wonder of presence.

Living in the present moment is a beautiful, bittersweet understanding that everything and nothing exists at the same time. Everything exists because you are so wholly present that you see the magnificence of every small detail and there is a sense of wonder and admiration for the moment that is. But at the same time, that moment is fleeting and just as it arises, it also passes too. It is with this realisation that our minds awaken to the true nature of the present moment. 

The last piece of the puzzle slotted in.
There. I had done it.
And then it began.
They came back glowing, relieved, excited—
The parts I had given away,
The ones that had been taken,
The ones I had shamed,
And the ones that dared to laugh.
They all came back.
I finally saw how they had tried,
How they had loved me this whole time.
Even when I didn’t think they were loving me,
They were just doing their best.
And that was the missing piece.

Having compassion for all the parts that exist within us unburdens them from their role of being on alert and protecting us. It is illuminating to see how the parts we are ashamed of, or the ones that make us act in less-than-ideal ways, are simply frozen, trapped in a moment of pain. They live in fear that we will experience this suffering again and therefore act in ways to prevent us from experiencing it. But when we can view these parts of ourselves with compassion, acceptance, and understanding, they feel safe, and we gain the information needed to know what they need to feel unburdened. These parts then return to us in a way that is illuminating, for they are no longer acting in fear but in love and compassion. This illumination is freeing, stilling, and energising at the same time. When we see within ourselves how these parts have protected us, we also extend compassion to the parts of others that need more love.

At first, it started like little flickers of light,
And when I paid attention to them,
I could have sworn they shone brighter,
Like they were excited,
Dancing and playing tricks on my heart,
Until their current was so powerful,
That when they struck my heart,
The last embers of darkness seemed to disappear,
Powerless against this spark of energy,
This spark of light, of joy, of peace.
And once I saw them, I could never again unsee them,
Deciding from then on, I would do what it takes
To keep them dancing on my heart forever.

There is nothing quite as spectacular or eye-opening as welcoming the light back into your heart. It starts small but opens up, becoming bigger and bigger the more you embrace it. Because goodness does exist, even when you don’t think you deserve it, even when darkness has been your only friend for quite some time. The light still exists. If you see it, let it in, no matter how tiny it is. That’s the magical thing about the light. Once it starts shining inside you, it grows, illuminating every corner of your soul and transforming your life in ways you never imagined possible.

What would it be like to really feel the breeze?
As it travels by, awakening all my senses,
Would I then stop?
Or would it be when the sun wakes for the day,
Rising until its rays warm the stagnant energy within me?
Or maybe it’ll be the moon with all its ethereal splendour,
And I’ll marvel at the glow that it shines on us.
Would I see it then?
How jealous I am of the trees, the sun, and the moon,
For it appears they have mastered one of the most beautiful energies to exist,
The energy of wonder,
The energy of abundance,
The energy of receiving,
By simply basking in the energy of being.

When mastered, the state of being can be described as an effortless, calm and peaceful existence. A state of abundance, serenity and a feeling of being completely grounded in the present moment, free from the noise of the past and expectations of the future. Like nature, we become the observers of our lives, fostering a deeper connection to ourselves, and the world around us. A gentle flow, a quiet strength and a more authentic way of living. 

What was that feeling?

It’s exhilarating, awakening and heartbreakingly precious all in one go.

Alive and as though nothing else mattered in this world.

It feels so powerful but fragile at the same time.

I’m feeling so full, flushed with energy.

But thrillingly scared at the same time.

What is it like to love even though the fear of losing it haunts you? What is it like to love knowing that one day everything could change and this feeling that has flooded your entire existence could be nothing but a haunting memory of what could’ve been? What is it like to have the courage every day to love when the fragility of love and life threatens to take away everything?

Perhaps that’s it. Perhaps it’s when we see the fragility of love. When we understand that this feeling, this feeling of euphoria and bliss, of complete fullness, can be gone in an instant. Perhaps that’s when we see how precious it is that we have stumbled upon it. Perhaps that’s when we love harder. Perhaps that’s actually the whole point of love.
