What is art therapy?
Close your eyes and think of a really good memory. What do you see? You saw a visual snapshot of that beautiful moment, right? Inside your mind is an unimaginable number of snapshots which unconsciously dictate how you experience your present realities. Each of these images hold with it a belief, perception (pleasure or pain) and carry a feeling and emotion. Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy which helps you access, understand and interpret these images to bring forth self-discovery and healing. Through a range of creative processes and psychotherapeutic activities, art therapy can help you see how what you create is a representation of your subconscious beliefs and perceptions. By tapping into the power of creation, we can restore a sense of harmony and balance within.

Art therapy is an alternative type of therapy that offers a gentle yet effective, approach to gaining insight into your inner world and overcoming challenges you are facing. Visual images provide insight into our perception of the world that words cannot communicate, making art therapy well suited to exploring the depths of your inner world by externalising and expressing complex emotions and experiences symbolically. The role of the art therapist in this process is to facilitate the interpretation and understanding of your art, and how it may link to your inner world and the areas you wish to work on.
Engaging in the creative process can be inherently therapeutic, making art therapy not only beneficial for exploring our inner psyche, but also reconnecting with our imagination, intuition, self-expression and emotional processing skills.

My philosophy
Have you ever wondered how to connect deeply with your intuition? Let me show you how.
I believe that creating art is the sacred pathway to connect with the soul. It is the language that allows us to connect with the depths of our inner world and investigate hidden truths and emotions. It is a tool through which we can heal and release our emotional baggage, embrace our vulnerability and understand our human experience. Through such healing we can
reconnect with our essence and discover the purpose of our very being. My art therapy practice draws on ancient philosophies, meditation, breathwork, journaling (visual and written) and creative artistic endeavours, all designed to complement each other and bring forth a profound exploration of our inner psyche. It is a beautiful practice of expression and creativity with the focus of restoring a sense of equilibrium and inner peace.
Art therapy is effective as a series of sessions as it allows for a gentle and comprehensive exploration of our thoughts, emotions and experiences. There is a greater depth of exploration that can be achieved and we can gain insights, process emotions and make meaningful connections that may not be apparent in a single session. Your therapeutic goals can be adjusted based on your progress, feedback and emerging issues, ensuring that there is time for exploration, expression, reflection and integration of new perspectives.
